FAQs

Do students sign up for the whole year?

Yes, we assume students are participating for the 32-week school year. We do offer an add/drop date to allow families some flexibility for the second semester.

Do you follow Henrico County's school schedule?

No, we take it up on ourselves to set the school year schedule. However, we do follow Henrico County's Winter and Spring break. All other closings will be noted in our school calendar.

Do you follow Henrico County's inclement weather policy?

No, we will decide to stay open or closed during inclement weather. Please see our website, call the studio or check out our social media platforms for updates (Facebook, Instagram.)

Do you teach other forms of dance, such as ballroom?

No, we do not offer ballroom dance. However, we do offer some specialty dance instruction such as flash mob dances for weddings and special events. Please contact us to inquire further.

Is there a recital?

Yes, we hold a recital at the end of the year. This is a ticketed event that takes place at Deep Run High School. Costume prices range anywhere from $60.00 - $100.00. We also offer opportunities to purchase professional photographs and DVDs. Each year we alternate between a Spring Festival and Recital. The Spring Festival showcases a dance from every class, as well as a night dedicated to the Ballet Department. The Recital year combines every class to interpret a unique story the WEAD faculty has created. These much anticipated performances allow our students an opportunity to share all they've learned with friends, family and the community. We always look forward to seeing our students' hard work pay off on stage.
