FAQs
What do I wear to my dance lesson?
Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. We have students dressed from work attire to casual. We do recommend wearing shoes that have leather-soled bottoms and are easy to move in. Any shoes with a rubber sole will stick to the floor and inhibit movement! For gentlemen, dress shoes are ideal in the beginning. For ladies, whether its heels or flats, wear a shoe that securely fits your foot! For brides to be, bring your wedding shoes to practice in.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Expect to be greeted when you come through our doors by a friendly face! We will walk you to one of our lounge areas and ask you a few questions to ensure your first ballroom dance lesson is enjoyable. From that point, you will meet your instructor and be guided to the dance floor for your lesson.
What will I learn?
You will learn a few social dances based on any goals or special events you have coming up. We usually recommend the dances to start out with, but if you have specific ones in mind, we can start with those.
What dances do you teach?
We teach every kind of social dance. We teach the ballroom dances, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango and Quick Step. Other dances such as Rumba, Cha Cha, Swing, Mambo, Bolero, Paso Doble and Jive. We also teach Night Club dances such as Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, Kizomba, Zouk, and Hustle. If you are looking to learn how to freestyle dance (dance in a night club without a partner), we do teach this upon special request.
What are the practice parties like?
Practice parties provide a real-life social experience in a safe learning environment. All of the instructors attend the practice sessions to ensure your success in making dancing a lifetime skill. They are a great way to meet new people and get comfortable with skills necessary to becoming a comfortable social dancer.
