FAQs

Is Jiu Jitsu safe?

Having trained in various martial arts my entire life, from Karate to Muay Thai, I would say Jiu Jitsu is one of the safest martial arts! Unlike striking arts where the rounds end when the time is over or the fighter has quit or been knocked out, in Jiu Jitsu when you are tired or uncomfortable at any time you are allowed, and even encouraged to tap. This stops the training and you get to reset and continue training!

Where do I park?

As we are located close to downtown, parking during prime hours can be challenging. We do have 15 parking spaces in the back dedicated to the gym and we can park along Park Ave as well as Cleaves and Morrison street.

Do we get to train with world champions?

Our Academy is unique in that in any given class there can be multiple world champions. All competitors train in a separate competition class that is by invite only. With that said they train multiple times a day and you will absolutely be able to train with world champions at some point!

I dont want to compete, is this the gym for me?

Absolutely! Less then 10% of the students at the academy like to compete. Most people train to have fun, get in shape and evolve their understanding of Jiu Jitsu.
