How fit do I need to be?

Fitness is absolutely not a requirement. You can become fit by start jiu jitsu. Of course the more fit you are the more you can do and the quicker you may learn. Fitness in general is encouraged, and will help you not only with martial arts, but with life.

What are the benefits of jiu jitsu?

The benefits of studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is fitness, self confidences, self development, self defense, comradery, better mental health, better physical health, and so so so much more!

Do we pay for belts/promotions?

Absolutely not, our promotions are earned through hard work and dedication on the mats. We will be giving promotions for free when the instructor feels that the student is ready for the next challenge.

Does my child have to compete?

No your child is not obligated to compete. However we do encourage competition because competition will help your child grow not only as a martial artist but in life as well. Your child will learn how to set goals, manage stress, and push through when the going gets tough through competition.
