At the conclusion of the weekend seminar a few years ago that marked the formal start of our training with Suino Sensei in iaido, Sensei gave a five-minute talk addressing his personal mission. We were transfixed. I’d never seen anything like it: a group of men so affected by something an instructor said that the atmosphere in the dojo tangibly changed. Truly remarkable.
