Best Dance Classes in Columbia, MO

Our program starts in the fall and ends in the spring for a total of 8 months. Class times vary from 45 minutes to one hour, and longer for the older students. Class meets each week except for some holiday breaks. Those breaks will be on the calendar provided to each dancer at the beginning of the year. We expect dancers to attend on a regular basis, but we do understand if they are sick or have a school function. Just like with any educational program, the more class you miss the more material you miss as well.

Our youngest dancers, ages 3 to 5 are put in a combination class that is 45 minutes long. Since this is their first classroom experience we have many activities that help them learn to follow instructions, participate in a group, and utilize motor skills. They get a small amount of tap and ballet in class, as well as creative movement. For children kindergarten through 5th grade, most of our classes are combination classes. Throughout the year, they get instruction in tap, ballet, jazz and acrobatic/tumbling. This offers the dancer a variety of styles, so they may sample and learn the many different techniques offered in dance. We also offer hip hop and acrobatic tumbling to several age groups if you think your child would find those classes interesting as well. You may sign up for as many classes as you would like.

We do make it easy to get your dancewear at our dance shop inside the studio. We try to keep all sizes and styles available so you can try on and buy the correct size and color for your child. We have a DRESS CODE for our students. A dress code teaches students discipline, helping with overall focus and energy. By "dressing the part" dancers feel like part of the group. Our goal is to encourage the team spirit and the focus and respect that learning the art of dance requires. At recital time, we will ask that ALL DANCERS purchase tights from us so that each one will look uniform on stage with the exact same color of tights. We keep all sizes and styles in stock in the appropriate color. If we for some reason are out of what you need, please ask the office staff to fill out an order form for you.
