FAQs

What if I don't have any martial arts experience?

No worries. You don't need any martial arts experience to start Jeet Kune Do training. That's our job' to train you in the technical and philosophical knowledge that was studied and taught by Bruce Lee during his lifetime. The system is designed to take people with no previous experience and bring them to a level of proficiency, confidence and self-knowledge.

Are the classes hard and should I get in shape first?

While the classes can be challenging and physically demanding at times, you do not need to get in shape first. Jeet Kune Do is designed for everyone, regardless of fitness level. In fact, taking classes is the best way to get into shape. Our class format is created to push students but also allow them to progress and reach their goals at a pace they feel comfortable with.

Is the training safe?

Safety is our top priority so not only is our facility safe, we also help you build a strong foundation before you climb the Jeet Kune Do ladder, so to speak. You decide when and how far you want to progress and what intensity you want. Everyone here is very supportive and helpful in training.

How often should I train?

To achieve your best results, try to aim for 3-5 sessions per week, but also listen to your body when it needs to rest. After your first training session, your body may be sore and may need longer to recover, which is perfectly okay. To maximize muscle recovery and optimize your gains, try to take at least one rest day per week and supplement your training with plenty of stretches, water, sleep, and a balanced diet.

What are the benefits of Muay Thai?

The conditioning that you go through to become faster, stronger, more efficient, and more powerful has similar effects on your body, mind, and spirit. As you train, you will notice greater self-confidence, a stronger sense of discipline and a mental fortitude that reveals itself in other areas of your life. When students practice Muay Thai, they cultivate strong values, and every time they show up, they have the ability to be humbled and inspired, to test their determination and courage, and to build others up with us. When you combine these mental gains with a noticeably fit and healthier body and an empowered spirit, there's no reason NOT to train Muay Thai!
