ALL are welcome to join us for this weekend exploration of a topic that has, for too long, been taboo. Viewing the cycle of a woman’s life in stages helps us to better understand and appreciate our natural strengths and vulnerabilities throughout this transformation. These shifts are gradual and take place over long periods of time; the subtle nature of these shifts guides us gently and intuitively through the passages of life. Of these stages some of the most notable and profound changes that a woman goes through in her lifetime occur during the peri-menopausal and menopausal stages. Many of us have been left to sort things out on our own. Through trial and error, sometimes successfully and other times with no success at all, we move through. The good news is that there are tools and methods, ways to support ourselves and our students physically, emotionally, and mentally throughout this stage of life. Yoga and other complementary practices can support and aid us in finding and maintaining well-being, balance, and even a sense of ease during transitional stages of life. We’ll focus on this stage of a woman's life: common symptoms, what one might expect, and how to prepare for what’s to come. There are things that we can do to prepare ourselves ahead of time! We'll talk about hormones, nutrition, and sleep, as well as yoga poses, practices, and techniques to use in the class setting as well as for private lessons and ourselves to support women during this time.
