Sentiment Analysis
Working with Scott is about meeting the requirements of the martial art, not with meeting the needs of a needy and controlling social group.
Scott is brilliant, innovative, funny, and dedicated.
I have been reading his blog for about 10 years now, had a number of internet conversations, read both his books and was fortunate to meet up with him once.
I highly recommend training with Scott, regardless of your level of training, previous martial arts background or preferred style/school.
However, I guarantee that sticking with Scott will be extremely valuable to any open-minded and dedicated martial student.
Don't study with him or read his books if you're searching for a humorless authoritarian moron with a narrow understanding of philosophies on violence, history, theater, politics, and religion (SPP is the opposite of that...
Every time I train with him I learn something that reverses my assumptions and makes me question everything, an excellent trait in a martial artist!
Scott's playful and supportive style has helped me to flip all those practices on their head--and I have to say, the world seems clearer upside down.
We've covered a broad variety of stuff, including meditation, cooking, fitness, and asian medicine (I practice asian medicine as a profession).
I feel that every time I have a training session with him, I become stronger and more free internally.
