I teach playing by ear, reading music, rhythm understanding, chords, scales, basic improvisation, and music history and appreciation using my experience and the many tools available including the most up-t0-date technology that I have found. I want my students to have the skills to play for their entire lives. In addition, I strive to teach my students to listen critically to their playing, to develop self-discipline and perseverance, and to spend their time practicing effectively. It is also important that students experience success in small steps to positively develop their self-esteem.

The registration fee includes all music, (except for something unusual, or difficult to get that the student requests), as well as all games, activities, technology fees, and a practice kit with supplies and additional games.

Learning any skill takes time, patience and diligent effort, and learning the piano is no different. When you begin studying piano, you enter a journey of a lifetime. I see a critical role as a teacher to be helping each student learn how to effectively practice, spending their time wisely, not just biding time. Here is a general guide: Beginning students will need to spend at least 15 minutes 5-6 days a week regularly for the first 3 or 4 months and then spend 20 -30 minutes a day practicing effectively until they reach an intermediate level when they would need to increase their time to at least 45 minutes a day.
