Happy Monday!nnI am finishing the last term of my Master of Applied Positive Psychology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. nnFor my Capstone project, I am designing and implementing a scientifically-based pilot multicomponent positive psychology intervention, where I will examine the feasibility and acceptability of a humor and laughter-based program using the PERMA model, a broad approach to the evolutionary theoretical basis of humor, laughter yoga, and mindfulness to help family caregivers prevent caregiver stress, reduce burnout, and improve overall well-being and quality of life. I will also measure stress, well-being, and quality of life as outcome variables. nnWho are Family Caregivers? nFamily caregivers (FCs) refer to all informal and unpaid nonprofessional caregivers of direct family members, relatives, friends, significant others, and neighbors. Either by choice or chance, FCs take on the primary caregiving role and responsibilities for the chronically ill or disabled individual needing care due to any psychological, physiological, neurological, physical, and behavioral condition that requires particular attention throughout the caregiver-recipient lifespan (Akter et al., 2023; Gérain & Zech, 2019; Gérain & Zech, 2021; Converso et al., 2020; Joseph, 2023; Kasten, 2021; NAC & AARP, 2020; Prevo et al., 2018; Schulz & Tompkins, 2010; Tkatch et al., 2017). nnThe program will be delivered online during 4 weeks through live sessions.
