On World Down Syndrom Awareness please forgive me as I post some of my favorite photos of some of my favorite people!!! My students who have Down Syndrome are some of the most fun, creative students I have. I remember my first special needs art class in 2016? I was a bit nervous, I didn't have a ton of experience working with special needs students. But I felt if the Lord brought them to me..He would provide what they needed from me. He would teach me and equip me..and boy, oh boy. Did He ever. nnNot gonna lie..it can be challenging also. I remember one time one of the students locked herself in the bathroom and then flooded my sink. Then we had one student who loved to run away. Stinkers!!! nnSo in acknowledging some of the challenges, I also have to tip my hat to the caregivers. They are the most patient and kind folks I know. It can be exhausting being a caregiver 24/7..I have such compassion for them. They have such big hearts. A lot of the projects we do could not be done without their help. Truly amazing humans!! nn Id love to share some of the experiences I learned through the years from these beautiful art students God brought into my life....First, they love so big!!!!
