The length of time that a child requires tutoring is highly individualized and is determined by the program, session frequency, and student progress. Typically our students work with our learning specialists for a semester. Reading intervention usually takes 1-3 years for effective remediation.

Children may benefit from tutoring if they are struggling to learn, lacking motivation, lacking confidence, avoiding homework, having trouble focusing, or consistently getting poor grades. In some cases, children have set goals and need assistance or new strategies in order to achieve those goals and tutoring provides them with the tools needed to be successful.

The length of the Service Agreement will depend on the needs of your child. The director usually recommends that you extend the Service Agreement for several weeks beyond the test date so test scores are received prior to disconnecting services with The Learning Specialists. In this way, your child will be able to retain the scheduled appointment time with the same teacher if he or she should decide to stay on for more preparation. If you decide to end the Service Agreement before the test results are received, there is no guarantee that we can provide that continuity.

We offer a unique opportunity for your child to develop a relationship with a dedicated, experienced teacher who will teach your child the skills and strategies he or she needs to navigate the complicated world of standardized testing. We use a research-based program to provide students with the necessary tools to reach their goals.

Parents will be contacted prior to the end of their service agreement to find out if they are interested in continuing with their Learning Specialists. However, parents interested in continuing can inform their Learning Specialists at any time. Once the new session dates are scheduled between the parent and the tutor, the office manager will process a new service agreement.
