We use a training system that incrementally increases the difficulty of techniques as well as the level of intensity. Students are required to demonstrate self-control and have an understanding of fundamentals before they are able to spar (when both people are actually trying to attack and defend the techniques). Even when beginning to spar, we start with specific situational drills to help students learn the proper attacks and defenses in those situations. This system helps prevent accidental injuries that can occur when students prematurely begin intense training without proper preparation and guidance.
