This month, our Character Development Program (CDP) message is based on the words of Student Creed 2. This creed states, “I will develop self discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and others”. We say four student creeds at the beginning of every class and try to encourage students to understand and memorize these creeds so they can apply them to their lives in and out of karate. Student Creed 2 is about building self discipline, a skill that involves doing the things you know are good for you, even if you don’t always feel like it. If you do this consistently, you’ll improve in many ways and others around you may be inspired to do this as well. Self discipline can be used for anything from staying focused in karate class, eating healthy, exercising, doing chores or doing homework.
