FAQs
Do you have any weight restrictions?
For the safety of our clients, volunteers, and instructors we have a weight limit of 180 pounds for mounted activities including riding and interactive vaulting. There is no weight limit for ground classes and they can be a wonderful way to encourage physical activity.
Are you open year round?
Yes, we utilize our indoor arena year round. The arena is insulated keeping the temperatures relatively comfortable in the winter with the assistance of arena heaters. We have industrial ceiling fans to help cool the arena through the summer.
What should I wear?
Riding participants must wear an ASTM/SEI certified helmet. Heartland provides helmets for participants, but participants may provide their own ASTM/SEI helmets, if they wish. Long pants and closed toe shoes are required. A boot or shoe with a low heel is recommended, but not required. During winter months we recommend our participants dress in layers and wear gloves. Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and something they can move in easily. Dress for the outdoor weather but layers are best as you can warm up quickly!
