Urban Artistry

I was a little hesitant to roll up to this class, being completely new to hip hop dance. But our instructor, Avery, could not have been more chill and kind and welcoming. I'm so grateful for the experience and I'd love to come back. If this spot were in DC, I could see making it a regular thing--but it's way out in Wheaton, MD, which is a bit of a hike without a car. If you can get there though, totally worth it.

Top quality teachers give you the vocabulary and technique to find your voice in each dance code, to improvise and even compete if thats your goal.
The teachers are very helpful and the whole environment from students to staffs are supportive of each other's growth.
We joined online during the pandemic and I have been so grateful for how warm and personal the teachers have been able to make class on Zoom.
Super inclusive, genuinely warm and caring yet disciplined and coherent in their teachings.
Great vibes
So much fun for the young ones.
As for break dancing, this is usually taught by Russell and he is very good at describing the fundamental techniques such as top rock, freezes, 6 steps & related, flow between moves, etc.
The provide feedback, history, practice time, music lessons all in one!
My son dances here and loves it.
Great way to learn a cultural heritage.
