Jay is a fantastic teacher. As an adult student getting back into guitar after a long hiatus (i.e. raising kids), one of the things that I appreciate most is how willing he was to listen to my goals and tailor lessons to help me reach my desired outcomes. His approach definitely makes it feel like he's teaching me what I want to learn vs what he wants to teach (as some other instructors do).

Sentiment Analysis
His expertise and background along with his methods of teaching make me, with nearly no music background, very pleased and happy to be a student of his.
While waiting for my lessons I also had the opportunity to witness how Jay was instructing some newer players and I would definitely recommend him for any beginner or novice level players.
His principle is that anyone who is interested in learning to play can do it--music isn't just for prodigies or a chosen few, and his lesson plans and teaching techniques are designed for anyone.
He does more than show you how to play your instrument, he educates you, and I really appreciate that.
Jay Albert, owner, is a musically diverse & patient teacher with years of experience from classical to rock.
He is always able to structure lessons & practice exercises in a way that builds skills and competencies, and he does so in a manner that makes 'eating vegetables' feel more like having dessert.
This was my first time getting any musical guidance from a teacher one on one and Jay not only acknowledged my own progress but then curated a great pathway from his own material for filling in the gaps and then advancing me further in my music theory knowledge and furthermore then be able to apply it.
He teaches music in a way that not only teaches you a few tabs and chords, but helps you learn how to read and understand sheet music and rhythms in a way that even me as a guy who previously had no experience with a musical instrument can understand.
