In college I learned to play the clarinet and all of the other wind instruments at a basic level. I started teaching elementary general music right after I graduated from the University of Redlands with my Bachelors of Music in Music Education and my K-12 Music Teaching License. I taught elementary band, choir, and general music for 9 years at multiple elementary schools in California and Colorado.

I love learning many different songs and Rachel allows you to pick the songs you enjoy.
Rachel has been providing instruction to my 13 year old daughter for about 5 months.
They have learned a lot during that time period and were able to stay in engage by playing songs that are familiar to them.
I love her approach to teaching where our daughter starts by playing music she knows right away and not getting bogged down by learning a bunch of technique and/or notation.
But Rachel provides multiple opportunities to make lessons work with our busy schedules: zoom, make up lessons and coming to my house.
Rachel has a unique way of teaching/relating to teens, having them begin with music they know and enjoy, and work progressively from melody to rhythm to chords.
Rachel has been working with my special needs granddaughter since August and she really enjoys her lessons.
I love being able to learn by playing some of my favorite songs.
The fact that she can come to our home and work on our family piano is a gift, and her method has been a great way to ease my daughter into this new skill.
I like Miss Rachel's approach to teaching piano and how she picks songs my 6- and 8-year-old are familiar with as opposed to jumping right in with classical pieces of music.
