These provide the students with a role model to emulate and work toward while allowing the students to get familiar with the great musical treasures that await them.
There were pieces I have heard practically all my life, but Vitaly would surprise me by illustrating hidden melodies in the inner voices, enabling me to see beauty in the pieces I had not known was there, and showing me how to bring out the hidden melodies through developing a sensitive “touch” when playing the piano.
