FAQs

How is yoga different than other mat or stretching classes?

Yoga is led by the breath and the connecting of movement to breathe which helps the student become more aware of the present moment, their body, mind, and attachments. The physical practice of yoga is very important to keep the body moving and pliable but the benefits of yoga reach much farther than the physical poses. Our goal for each student is to move and breathe and connect to themselves and their bodies in a much deeper way but to, more importantly, to take that awareness with them once they move off their mat.

Do I need my own mat?

We have mats and towels available for rent at the studio but you may find as you develop your yoga practice that you prefer to invest in your own personal mat.

Do I need to book my class ahead of time?

Walk ins are always welcome but are on a first come first served basis. Booking your class ahead of time secures you a spot. During peak season and holidays, we will fill up and not be able to accept all walk ins. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class time so that you are checked in and on your mat by start time.

Any tips before attending my first class?

Refraining from eating 2-3 hours before class time is helpful. We will be moving, bending, twisting and undigested food can cause discomfort. Having a light snack or juice instead will help with movement. Bring an open mind and curiosity with you! We are here to support you in your journey and to help you discover all the amazing benefits of a consistent yoga practice.
