Here are two pictures spread out by 8 years of our competitor Kaito. He just recently took the Gold at the Grappling Industries State Championship in Everett. He really has a great attitude about competing and has won a bunch and lost quite a few too. One of the saying I have martial arts competition is that it forces you not to label your personality with a performance. I say "You are not a Win or a Loss, but something much bigger than both of these labels". When Kaito was younger, during class I put him on the spot with the following question "Hey Kaito, two weeks ago you won a tournament. One week ago you lost all your matches. Which are you, a winner or a loser." He replied "I'm a learner!". This was the exact answer I was looking for and the real lesson behind martial arts, or any competition for that matter.
