Achieving a black belt is an accomplishment that very few achieve. It requires hard work, dedication, perseverance and so much more. Many give up long before they achieve black belt because it is too much work. While on your journey to black belt, you may work very hard towards earning that belt. Once you receive your black belt, don't stop working hard. It is not a time to ease up on your training or become lazy with techniques. There are students in the dojo who look up to you and watch you with awe hoping to aspire to reach your level one day. Every time you get on the mat, give it your all. Be the best partner so you and your partner learn as much as you can, soak in every bit of information, and work hard every single class! The instructors notice everyone on the mat. They know who works hard and who doesn't. Make sure your name is associated with working hard! Your hard work does not go unnoticed and will pay off in your training, in your character, and in other ways outside the dojo.
