Using sketches as a starting point, Sketchbook Workshop is aiming to help students gain strong abilities to capture gestures and forms, as well as cultivate the habit of independent observation and art creation. The importance of sketching is self-evident: every masterpiece has had numerous solid sketching backups; every successful designer and artist demonstrates excellent sketching virtuosity. Through more than 400 pieces of practicing projects and multiple creative final projects in this class, students will harvest more than they expected. They will be exposed to immersive learning experiences, including exploring structures and gestures, collecting references, experimenting with compositions, narrating, and expressing via sketching. Inner interests in art and visual language expression capabilities will be enhanced; skills they learned from drawing and painting classes will be integrated. In short, this is a worthwhile time and energy investment that will help students to achieve the freedom of drawing and will definitely enrich their art portfolio.

FAQs

Can I get a refund?

If you signed up for a camp and need to cancel for any reason we can give you a full refund if we're able to fill your spot. If the cancellation is more than two weeks before the start date of the camp and we are unable to fill your spot, we can give you a 50% credit for a future class or camp. If the cancellation occurs less than two weeks before the start date of the camp and we are unable to fill your spot, we are unable to give a refund.

Can I join a class after the session has started?

Yes, upon instructors approval. We will prorate the fee for you, and charge you only for the remaining weeks of the session. There is an additional $25 fee for starting the session late.

If I miss a class, can I make it up?

If you notify us that you will be absent on a specific day before the beginning of the session, you can either choose to make up the class or pay a prorated cost. Makeups will be a single class drop-in during the same session as the missed class. If you haven't notified us of your absence in advance, we will not refund the class or offer a makeup.
