We are Ohio Contemporary Ballet! Our name clearly reflect the style of work while celebrating us as a recognizable presence in the region. The company vision is currently led by Dr. Margaret Carlson, former principal dancer for the original Cleveland Ballet, and Richard Dickinson, MFA, former Ohio Ballet dancer. OCBallet seeks to engage top dancers and choreographers that reflect diverse backgrounds across the country and globe. We see ourselves as not just a dance company, but as a valuable asset that enriches the lives of our community through providing access to dance opportunities, classes and education. Housed at the Ohio Contemporary Ballet Center in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights, we are committed to be a leader of artistic vibrancy in the Great Lakes region.

So far we have seen Shubert Melodies (2022) and Celebrations (2023) - both were beautiful and refreshing to watch!
It was delightful, even amusing (first few presentations), light-hearted, beautiful, and then, inspiring, passionate, chills inducing Awesome (Bolero), and overall Outstanding!!!
The close view, looking down on the dancers gave appreciation of the skill, artistry of their work, but also for the strenuousness of their movement.
My daughter will be apprenticing at the verb ballet, so impressed with company
