And while learning and memorizing a piece of music is valuable, it is far more valuable that a musician learns theory. There is nothing wrong with memorizing pieces that can dazzle people. We moved away from RB but continue to participate in their program because of the positive experience my daughter has had.
I talked to my daughter about looking at other productions (if anything is even open) but she wants to stay with MP at least until the fall when she goes to high school and she can see what the drama program there is like.
They worked with a great little cast and put on the cutest, well produced production of Willy Wonka during the craziest year anyone could’ve imagined.
If you are looking for your child to have the opportunity to learn multiple instruments, have singing lessons, be in kid band, AND do musical theatre, Music Pillars can provide it all.
The kids have really grown in their music and want to go to lessons and perform at the shows and festivals.
We just completed the production of Willy Wonka and even with all the circumstances in the world right now, the Music Pillars team (Scott and Lexi especially) were able to put together an amazing weekend of shows for family and friends in an outdoor setting.
They were able to put on a show within the limitations of the pandemic that was fun for the kids AND fun to watch.
Four of my children have been taking lessons for a couple of years and all of them have improved significantly.
I can’t say enough about getting children involved in the arts and this looks like a great place to do it.
