Krav Maga means “close combat” in Hebrew and was first developed by Imi Lichtenfield in the 1940s. He developed a self-defense system using techniques from boxing, jiu jitsu, wrestling, Muay Thai and more. His system was so successful that he was asked to teach the Israeli Defense Force. Presently, Krav Maga is being taught to military and police forces around the world.
