I have made so much progress and gained so much confidence that I have finally started to think of myself as a “real guitar player”, which is something I never thought would happen!
Not only does she help prepare you to play any original or cover that you’re trying to learn, but she also has helped make me feel more capable as a songwriter by helping me understand the theory behind the music.
In some respects, we have no business taking lessons from Ellen because she is an incredibly experienced and talented musician and teacher.
Songwriting makes sense to me because of the way that Ellen presents music through the lens of the Nashville Number System.
She is a master at getting your skill level to a point where you can be comfortable delivering a song in the most efficient and audibly pleasing way possible.
Ellen is simply a great teacher - patient, attuned to what level I'm at and where my playing is capable of going, always with a sense of fun and encouragement.
When I picked guitar up again, after a number of years, I decided that the best way to level up my playing was to find a good guitar teacher who would push me out of my comfort zone.
She will customize your lesson to be just challenging enough that you're definitely learning, but not so hard that you get frustrated.
I have more confidence for performing than I have ever had because of all of the things she has taught me from her years of experience and knowledge.
She explains music/guitar in an accessible, functional and FUN way.
