A week before meeting Coach Bishop, I was in the ICU for DKA. My blood sugar had risen to 820. For anyone that is familiar with diabetes, a blood sugar that high can pretty much be a death sentence. I couldn't walk, eat, or even keep water down while my blood sugar was elevated. After 2 days of being in the ICU, I made a decision that I was going to join a martial arts club as soon as I was discharged. I've always been a fan of the Rocky movies, Tony Jaa, Jet Li, and professional boxers. I was able to wean myself off the short acting insulin within the first week of working out at Bishop's Training and Fitness. By week 2, I was off the long acting insulin as well. Almost 3 years going to bishops, community is great, and you learn so much
Bishop's Boxing Gym is Amazing!
Started off going to Bishops in the spring of 2019 after my granddaughter asked to take boxing lessons in order to increase her fitness A month later, my grandson joined Bishops in order to lose some weight.
I called to come into the gym and agreed upon a time with one of your instructors but upon my entering the premises, the instructor wasn't there, having been stood up and disenfranchised I begun to exit.
Great programs, instructors, and equipment.
Very professional and extremely helpful and knowledgable when it comes to Boxing or any training
As for me, in three months of joining, I have overcome the motivation and injury issues and have increased mobility while losing over 30 pounds.
As a female master boxer there are not too many places on the south shore for women to spar.
