What do I need to wear for my horseback riding lesson? You should wear horseback riding pants, jeans or leggings that cover your entire leg; a shortor long sleeve t-shirt; socks with leather boots with a 1 inch heel (not any longer than 1 inch). Dress for the weather, a zippered jack rather than a pull on sweatshirt (so you can unzip the jacket and hand it to your instructor, if not you will need to get off the horse to take your sweatshirt off).
