What is online tutoring all about?

Our focus at Success Tutoring Online is educating students online. Online tutoring replicates what in-person tutorials can provide, but with greater flexibility in scheduling and location. We make use of video conferencing software and an interactive online whiteboard to create enriching sessions. With the online interactive whiteboard, Tutors can write out math problems, demonstrate concepts or visually show students how to write more effective essays. The student can see what the tutor writes on the whiteboard in real-time, as the tutor writes it. Likewise, when the student writes on the whiteboard, the tutor can see what the student is writing as he writes it. With this system, the tutor can see whether or not a student understands a concept or can do a problem correctly. The video conferencing application allows the tutor to see if the student appears to be happy and confident or puzzled and hesitant. It really is like having a tutor work with a student in person.

Who are the tutors at Success Tutoring Online?

Our tutors primarily consist of: Teachers. (New and retired.) College and post-graduate students that have tutored other students and have excelled in the subjects they tutor. Professionals or science experts that work in related fields. Professionals or math experts that work in related fields. Professionals that use their language arts expertise in related fields.

What are the credentials of our tutors?

The tutors at Success Tutoring Online have years of experience successfully teaching others either in a classroom setting or one a one-to-one basis. Many of our online tutors are credentialed teachers. Our vetting process ensures that any new tutors are evaluated as to qualifications before working with any students and all of our tutors are reviewed and assessed at regular intervals.

What kind of system is required to access online learning?

Students require a desktop or laptop with a microphone and webcam. (Tablets and cell phones are not recommended for online tutoring due to their small screen.) Additionally, the student will need a fast and reliable broadband/Wi-Fi connection to access the whiteboard and to connect to the tutor via the video conferencing application. Any newer computer with the latest version of Windows or Mac OS, and a web browser will let you access the online tutoring sessions. Headphones with microphones improve the audio quality.
