What is Shou Shu?

Shou Shu is a unique Martial Art that combines combative self-defense with technique designed to disarm and stop multiple attackers with a single sequence of moves.

Is it safe to practice Martial Arts?

Martial Arts can be safe and very beneficial for any practitioner of any level, age, or physical ability. The key to staying safe is to find an instructor that can work with your ability and any limitations you may have. Shou Shu has designed its instruction to be attainable for anyone, and Shi Gung Kemp has experience teaching individuals of all ages and physical abilities, including (but not limited to) students in a wheelchair, children with special needs, physically limited older practitioners, and more! Safety is a number one concern for our center, and we invite you to contact us directly with any specific safety concerns you have.

What are the benefits of Martial Arts?

Martial Arts has a lot of benefits, including physical exercise, self-confidence, weight loss, improved focus and concentration, athletic improvement, and guidance on morals and values. Many find that as they continue with martial arts, they start to eat better, sleep better, and have a happier attitude about life. Martial Arts training also requires you to work with other people, and develop a relationship with your community in your studio, which can reduce feelings of isolation and depression and improve your emotional health as well. There is little that is as valuable as being around like-minded people that are working together to improve their health.

This all depends on you and your schedule! We do our best to make classes available regularly and at different times. We also can teach private classes as well. No two students are alike, and their needs will vary. Give us a call and we can help you figure out the best schedule for you or your child.
