Every year, American Martial Arts Academy hosts our New Year’s Board Breaking Event. This event has become a yearly tradition that we host in order to increase our students’ self-awareness and motivation for the upcoming year. Our New Year’s Board Breaking Event is not an event for our students to have the opportunity to break boards. Instead, this event lets students set goals for the upcoming year and reflect on what they want to improve upon and/or accomplish. Furthermore, students are tasked with writing down a list of their bad habits. We want to make sure that our students look forward to the future while becoming the best version of themselves possible. As students break their boards, they are promising themselves that they will accomplish those goals within the year while “breaking” their bad habits.
