WE ARE FIRST! After many, many years of competition, we're “first-timers” again. First time in more than 3 years that we attended a major tournament. First time to compete with a Poomsae team at a major tournament. First time for most of our athletes to participate in their first-ever state championship. First time for all of our Kyoroogi athletes - first time in the Black Belt division or first time in Cadet, Juniors, or Seniors. First time for our Referee Corps. One of our first-timer referees even received the “Best New Referee” award! First time that ALL of our instructors participated in a major tournament. And, for the first time in 10 years, Ms. Ditan, our Kyoroogi coach, is back! We're happy with ourselves and our results. Some of us came home with medals but all of us brought home lessons and memories. We're grateful to California Unified Taekwondo Association for hosting this well-organized and smoothly-run event. It allowed us to test ourselves, grow, and more importantly, live the Taekwondo Spirit, which is to overcome ourselves so we may contribute to the betterment of the world. We're proud of our team (athletes, coaches, parents, referees, and loved ones) for their overflowing support and love for each other.
