We recently had COTA (certified occupational therapist assistant) students from Delgado students come for a field trip. They learned about therapeutic riding and hippotherapy and the difference between the two. We put them on the horses to see what it feels like to be hoisted up the lift  and placed on the horse! By being on the horses themselves without a saddle, they were able to feel the different gaits of the horses and understand why we use different horses for different diagnosis.
