Born into a musical family and raised in Malaysia, Dr. Kaffee Peck studied at Oklahoma City University and obtained her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance. She moved to California and graduated from the University of Southern California with her DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in Harp Performance, focusing on music theory and the pre-Baroque era. In addition to harp, Kaffee has extensive knowledge in piano and classical guitar. She was a soloist with the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra for the celebration of the King’s birthday, playing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Although she has taught classical guitar and piano for several years, she finally decided to concentrate on harp. As a freelance harpist living in Orange County, California, Kaffee teaches a wide range of students, from beginners to budding professionals, from young elementary grade children to retirees, collaborates with music ensembles, composes and arranges music, and has produced four other volumes of original and edited harp music.
