FAQs

Do my children need to have prior experience with Chinese to register for courses?

No, not at all! All students of any age are welcome to register for classes at a level they feel comfortable at. We offer courses from Beginner through Intermediate levels.

Are all students required to attend culture classes?

Culture classes are required for students in the 6th through 12th grade Chinese courses. This component of the class provides students with a cultural context to understand and practice the skills they acquire from regular classes.

Do students have to enroll in a grade based on their age?

No. While a student may feel more comfortable around peers of their age, we believe it is more important for students to enroll at the level that best represents their current Chinese language skills so they can stay engaged with the course materials throughout the semester. This applies to both students at a higher or lower level than their current age group.

Do I need to be of Chinese descent to register for courses?

Absolutely not! Anyone and everyone interested in learning is encouraged to register for classes! We have both youth and adult courses available as well!

Can I register my student online?

While we have an online registration form, we have not yet built an online payment processor, so payments must still be completed in person at ICC. Sorry about the inconvenience!
