Dancing does not come easily to me and my fiance had almost zero experience. Laurie Ann not only taught us the dance moves, but explained the process from a mental point of view--how the brain learns. She gave us some great tips about practicing the dance steps in our heads to strengthen the brain when we weren't physically dancing. She was also great at finding little shortcuts and manageable moves for us to play with to spice up the routine.

Even though neither my wife and I had any prior dance experiences, we never felt like the process was out of reach, and she never made us feel like we lacked the skills or potential to learn our dance.
Laurie Ann has great sense in just looking or dancing the move with you where she can pinpoint exactly if your arm isn't giving your partner enough space or if your hand is sending a confusing signal by being placed just too far to the left etc.
She knows just how to tailor every minute of every lesson perfectly to you, will work with you towards your goals, and is very skilled at evaluating your skill level, understanding what is feasible to accomplish in any given amount of time, communicating and demoing complex moves, and catching the tiniest of mistakes that can trip you up down the road.
I have never done swing dancing before, but left after the first lesson feeling like I could make a go of it.
LA has an ability to see where your strengths are as well as where you have room for growth and guides you through those sticking points that enable you to enjoy what you're learning and keep at it.
While my wife is an incredible dancer, I have no rhythm and we had never really slow danced together, other than the slow dance shuffle that anyone who doesn't know how to dance does.
