We are excited to propose a second season of compelling plays by women, each of which provides a jumping-off point for conversations and surprising ways of understanding our complicated world. The season includes plays that center less-privileged people taking a stand and fighting for what they believe, though the odds are against them, such as climate change refugees Mac and the Gray Fox in The Broken Machine and Kamila in Tight Pants, who immigrates to the U.S. from The Dominican Republic. These plays take us through the mirror of time – to the past and to the future, such as in Bulrusher, a magical, lyrical play with music, set in 1955 in the Redwood county north of San Francisco, in which we experience the possibility of surprising redemption and love, despite the presence of...
