Founded on the belief that every horse deserves a forever home where they are loved and appreciated, Oregon Horsemanship soon grew into a full riding program in order to support the horses. When people ask where we get our horses we respond that “they find us. ” With varied backgrounds- sometimes with issues both mental and physical- they have found a place where they are understood and get to live out their days at our facility focused on community. Compassion, love, and patience is found at our barn for both people and horses.

I started learning to ride in January at another barn and quickly realized it wasn't the barn for me as the only thing you could do there was get up on an already tacked horse and they really didn't give clear instructions.
I was looking for something specific, though, I wasn’t looking for competitive hunter jumper programs from my youth, I was looking for pure heart and soul bonding and compassion between a horse and rider, and I have found that here.
She really enjoys lessons with Alyssa, and Letitia and her staff are welcoming to humans and passionate about horses.

Yes, you'll learn how to ride, and ride with confidence, but more even- this barn brings a holistic experience that teaches discipline, grace, kindness to animals, and a little hard work mixed in (disguised as fun).

The staff are knowledgeable, they care about the riders, and most importantly they have a huge heart for horses that need a home and people who will love them.
Oregon Horsemanship is such an unique facility in it’s rehabilitation of horses combined with lessons and experiences they offered my daughter.
