:) ), adapts to the student's actual level/progress, really encourages growth and positivity, really listens to the student, really incorporates the use of modern technology in the lesson as well as outside to aid the student in practicing, really focuses on fundamentals (technique, relaxation, chops, reading, left hand lead, right hand lead, etc) to help the student handle any musical situation
He lessons have rigor but always feel fun, and he teaches techniques that are healthy for kids' developing bodies and that lay a solid foundation for a lifetime of injury-free drumming.
I also very much appreciate that he thinks about the long-term impacts of grip techniques and will teach you the best ergonomics as well.
We decideded to switch to Ned after the free trial lessons and after more than one year we are really happy with the progress my son (he is now like a real drummer!
My son is on the spectrum and the way Ned has been able to connect to him and teach him is amazing.
My daughter has taken lessons (guitar and piano) from various musicians and has not been as inspired and motivated as she is with her drum lessons.
Ned is a great teacher, and is very supportive and patient when it comes to teaching.
The other night in his lesson he was playing along to one of his favorite songs and Ned would jump in and accent the beat or give him new things to try and the joy and smile on my son's face was just priceless.
Ned is very patient and has some fabulous techniques to teaching younger kids and keeping them so engaged and focused during the lesson.
Once we took a few lessons with Ned, it was clear that he was the perfect teacher for us.
