Jody is lovely and she sets the stage at the beginning of each session by providing guidance for painting followed by a moment of guided mindful meditation. With a clear head and heart you start painting by selecting the color you are drawn to. No big rules, no experience necessary, just a beautiful and safe space to create something from your heart. It is great to try as a therapeutic outlet, as a new tool for open creation, or if you are interested in mindfulness practices. I recommend it as an individual or with a group. ”

My daughter, mom, and I scheduled a virtual mindfulness painting experience with Jody.
I have not picked up a paintbrush in about 20 years and truly was afraid of what -- failure, the feeling of not being good enough, of trying.
Her presence is very receptive and she holds a safe place for the student to experience the freedom to paint with whatever she is called to, sees with her inner eye and with whatever colors and brushes call her.
We have offered Mindfulness Art for the Soul as a program for our caregivers because it provides a valuable respite that a caregiver can do from their home, and we have had an excellent response.
I have done other painting classes that are more about recreating something, whether you are copying another piece of work or trying to create a picture in your head.
The second painting revealed a calmness and softness in my mood with muted colors, curves and detail.
