Manchester Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

My name is Rob Magao. I am the owner and head instructor of “The Bushido Jiu-jitsu Academy”. Our academy story began in 1999 when we were primarily a training club for police officers and other first responders. Over the past 20 years we have grown into a full-service martial arts academy with two locations; Manchester BJJ and Hebron BJJ. We teach authentic Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-jujitsu and we are official affiliates of the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association. In addition to our Gracie Jiu-jitsu program we also have classes in Striking, Wrestling, and Judo! We are a family martial arts academy with classes available for kids (5 and up), teens, and adults. Thank you for visiting our website and we hope to see you on the mats soon!

Everyone I rolled with was super capable but also humble with egos in check.
If you want to learn self defense or learn jiu jitsu or get in great shape Bushido is the place you have to try.
We are beyond blessed to be apart of this jiu-jistu community, the coaches are amazing, they have adult and kid classes.
Overall great experience training at Manchester bjj
The school also has a great culture, you don’t get a sense of ego or an overemphasis on hierarchy.
They have a awesome staff and community wiling to sacrifice for their students and invested in helping others constantly improve.
I would recommend it to fellow women looking to try out a self defense/ combat sport.
Great culture with growth minded practitioners fostering community building and engagement.
If you’re considering starting bjj or have been around for a while and are looking for a new gym, this is the place to be.
We went through some handfighting drills with collar ties, then drilled some standing body locks and foot sweeps, then transitioned to straight ankle lock variations, ending with a Tye Ruotolo inspired slick knee bar from defending a straight ankle variation.
