) It’s not just that Dan has an encyclopedic command of guitar and theory and genres; he also has an enthusiastic and easygoing teaching style that makes it hard to put the instrument down.
If you're interested in becoming a better musician, and learning how music works, this is the place for you.
Dan did a great job of meeting me where I was by 1) finding the random gaps in my knowledge, and 2) figuring out which of my bad habits we needed to break and which ones we could let slide (at least for now).
It's a testament to the strength of that community that when a global pandemic hit in 2020 and suddenly forced us to stop meeting in person for a long period of time, Dan was able to work with the us to find a way to move the whole operation online.
Dan also has his Jam Class band which has been immensely helpful in moving from just playing songs in my room to playing music with others.
He is a swiss army knife with his ability to teach - be it song structure, music theory, guitar improv, playing with a band, etc.
Apart from being incredibly knowledgeable about music, he also know how to break down concepts and show them to you using music rather than just stating why something does or doesn't work.
The man will first find out where your level is, find out where you want to go, then give you a plan and helps you get to where you want to go.
From the most basic techniques to advanced theory, he helps you design personal music instruction that will keep you interested and enthusiastic.
