Alongside incredible classmates and Professor Jack's encouragement and wisdom I found myself completing 5 levels of Meisner before I even knew it, I can confidently say this program is worth all the time and energy I put into it!

My class is now preparing for our Level 5 showcase, and it's remarkable how many of us have gone from starting as non-performers in Level 1 to delivering emotion-driven scenes for our showcase.

The community has only continued to grow since I've been there, offering opportunities for open mic nights, a 10-minute play-fest where students write, act, and direct original plays, and workshops that explore other areas of performance and even the business of acting and auditioning.

What surprised me from the start—and what compelled me to return for the entire year-long Meisner program—was how much more it is than just acting skills; Green Shirt transformed me as a person.

My instructor there was Charles Andrew Gardner, the SAG AFTRA Chicago local President, and when I asked him where I could take more of a methodology/technique-based course he mentioned Black Box Theater and Green Shirt Studio.

This is the perfect place for anyone interested in engaging with acting as an art form and vehicle for greater presence, whether or not you want to work as an actor.

I took Level 1 with Jack Shulz and the amount of growth we made as a class over the 8 weeks was nothing shy of remarkable.

I love the community of fellow actors I’ve befriended through Green Shirt and am very grateful to have had Jack as an instructor.
