Greater Washington Dance Center

The owner was so impressed by Caitlin’s resume – which highlighted skills obtained from participating in the Professional dance program at the Greater Washington Dance Center – that she instead chose to hire her at the dance studio as her (part-time) front desk manager.

Gretchen, Stephanie Dorrycott (Associate Director of the studio and Artistic Director of Motion X Dance) and their team of teachers helped her find dance intensives and apprenticeships, make connections with choreographers and company directors, prepare for auditions.

The quality of instruction is superb, but most importantly it is a loving, encouraging, and kind family of dancers for all ages and levels.

We are thankful for the healthy attitudes about body image, strength and diversity that are present at the studio.

We are proud to be a part of this community and feel very lucky for my daughter to have started here so young.

If you want to offer your child a place where they can safely be themselves and pursue/find not just their love of dance but of themselves, come to GWDC.

We love Ms Julianne, she is patient and kind, especially with a room of 5 year old beginning ballerinas.

It’s also very clear that student safety is a top priority as training is taken very seriously before students are allowed to advance.

I love the growth I'm seeing in her dance skills and I'm thankful for the time and effort the teachers give to her and the other students!
