As a musician, I try to engage with both the creative and re-creative aspects of music. I admire the creative spontaneity of jazz improvisation as well as the refined beauty of classical composition. I also have a deep respect for the art of faithfully performing written works as the composer intended them to be realized. Although we don't always know exactly what the composer intended, I think it's important to try to get as close as we can.

My son has been taking piano lessons with Dave Long for a couple of years now and we love him.
My son and daughter have both worked with Dave and I have to say, we are very pleased with what they’ve accomplished so far.
Dave has been patient, kind and most importantly committed to the process of helping my son advance in his piano talents.
He helped us select a piano that would work best for our family, and shared links for helpful resources to support their learning experience.
He's also helping me break some long-held bad habits that were starting to cause a little discomfort while playing.
Dave is very talented, always professional, courteous and willing to provide additional teaching materials to aid me in my practice between lessons.
His jazz background makes his lessons so much better than anything you can get form a standard music school that just follows the curriculum in a particular book series.
Dave was very professional, patient and soft spoken while teaching my daughter .
I look forward to more of my piano lessons with Dave Long to pursue more piano technique and music theory.
Started with online lessons then moved to in person, really feel like I'm getting my moneys worth and making good progress.
