We de-construct complex skills into simple tasks and guide students through the process of discovering the solution. As a beginner you get to fully participate in a safe, fun, and controlled way, and quickly learn how to play the game.

Beyond the level of instruction and cleanliness of the facility, it was very obvious by some of the things that Alex said during class that Alex and Sally have created a very very respectful and safe gym culture, which, from my experience in this sport, is massively undervalued and rarely cultivated by gym owners and instructors.
The Black Belt, Alex, was also very welcoming and he taught the class a good variety of technical, practical and efficient techniques.
Alex and Sally were incredibly kind, welcoming, and communicative with me, and went out of their way to make sure that I knew everything I needed to know to attend any of their classes and to set up some private lessons during my stay.
An excellent class on leg lock defense, with easy to understand concepts that are immediately applicable.
No doubt about it, best place in the area for BJJ.
Thanks to Alex and Sally and the rest of the people at Common Ground, I've not only improved my BJJ skills but also become part of a fantastic community.
