Tất cả sinh hoạt của Thiền viện đều dưạ trên nền tảng căn bản mà Hoà thượng Tôn sư đã vạch ra dựa theo tinh thần của Thiền phái Trúc Lâm Yên Tử mà Sơ Tổ Trúc Lâm Đại Đầu Đà tức vua Trần Nhân Tông đã khai sáng cách đây hơn 700 năm về trước.
