I'm writing this note with deep appreciation for the lovely Newsday article written about two exceptional young women who contribute their time to Dance for Joy. My husband and I spend a lot of time talking about humanity and the endless barrage of hateful actions in which our country seems to be mired. And then I read something like this piece and I feel hopeful again. So thank you for creating the opportunity for people to do good, to be good. .. to let us know that humanity is not lost.

Her instruction is thorough and compassionate with guidance for those of us that are starting from scratch or from a long hiatus - yet precise enough for the more advanced.
There is also live piano accompaniment which is an absolute pleasure to hear and dance to with these highly skilled musicians as well.
Heather Berest, the teacher is a former Paul Taylor dancer and is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and is able to teach so that regardless of your level you will feel comfortable and enjoy the class as you are learning.
I myself have taken an exercise class with Olga Berest for many years, and so have had a first hand experience of her warmth, caring, and professional expertise.
The older staff and teachers are an acquired taste - very old school.
Today they are twenty three and they talk about how awesome the classes were and have fond memories of Ms Berest and the other teachers.
